I can picture myself dancing around like a fairy with a glass of sangria, but despite its colloquially feminine reputation, the boys like a bit of Sangria too. So let me present you with another awesome recipe, this time a sangria recipe

“Yes honey, I’m making a drink for the girls” – haha, she bought it! Double the booze content, put on a game of football or baseball, and drink some “punch” with a real PUNCH – Trust me when I say my house gets rowdy fast.

The Spanish are on to something, Sangria is really easy to drink.

Now let me let you in on a little trick – you can carbonate fruit to make it fizz! You can actually carbonate the whole batch yourself, don’t worry about adding carbonated drinks for minimal fizz.

The key is dry ice – go to your local dry ice shop (grocery stores often have it, or gas station) – get a big sealable container (make sure its nice and strong – A very large and strong screw top drink bottle, or many of them, will do the trick. Now just dump the dry ice in, close the lid, and put it in the fridge overnight.

The next morning you will have super fizzy sangria.

Check out this sangria recipe – its really groovy.

Beer Can Chicken Recipe

October 1, 2007

On Saturday night I invited the boys around for dinner, but felt a little bit lazy. What better than a barbecue!

We cooked up the usual meats, onions, steaks etc, but I tried something new this time. I cooked up a beer can chicken!

Its very easy to do. You just thaw a frozen chicken, pull out the obvious fatty bits, cover it with spice rub and shove a can of beer up its butt! About an hour later, you get this juicy juicy chicken!

The best part of this recipe, is that you have to drink some beer while you are making it. Here is a quote from rezipes.com

“Open the can of beer, and drink about 1/3rd of the can (This is my favourite part)”

Obviously because you can’t use a full can of beer, but I think all recipes should be writen to include nibbles, munchies and beer. If its a stir fry recipe, your recipe should say “take a peice of carrot to chew on” – of if you are cooking sushi “cut off the ends to make a neat roll, and EAT THEM!”

Anyway, that is my post for today, if you find yourself craving a super simple and easy beer can chicken recipe, <— just click there
